Hey guys, I know the round up is normally posted Saturdays, but I was unbelievably busy yesterday and so it’s coming to you today instead. So, what’s new this week?
Fiction Friday is back. But it’s a little different, this time I’ll be serialising longer stories every week. You can check out the first part of Balancing the Books here. It’s a spooky little tale that will be playing out over three weeks, with an eBook release in time for Halloween.
#Drawlloween continues, I’ve been posting the pictures to the blog pretty regularly, but I’ve also moved away from posting here each and every day. I’m trying to keep stuff like that more to twitter for now. Here’s yesterday’s drawing, the subject was “Alien.”
And there’s another Timeshare strip of course… You can head on over to the site to read through, or check out this week’s comic below.
This week’s Those Aren’t Biscuits is now live, this week we talked about our favourite music, corny 80s cartoons, and I demonstrated my lovely singing voice. Check it out here.
And last but not least, my Youtube channel is doing really well right now. It’s growing faster than ever, and you can head there to see me Let’s Play vids of games like Minecraft, Dead Rising, Outlast (if you’re brave.) Or, if you fancy something a little more bitesize, check out this wonderful moment where fellow Biscuits- Host Jon and I finally took down the AT-ATs in the Star Wars Battlefront Beta. It was a beautiful moment.
Slighty Late Drawlloween!
Hey guys, I did actually draw these #Drawlloween pics on Day 8, but I was having a few technical hitches with the blog and couldn’t log in to post days 8 or 9 at the time, so here they are now.

Another day, another Drawlloween.
Today’s subject was “Haunted House” and this is what I came up with.
You can check out my previous entries here.
We’re on Day 6 – Pumpkin!
This one was a little bit different because I had a really clear idea of what I wanted to draw as soon as I saw Pumpkin on the list. I love Jack-O-Lanterns, and I’ve wanted to draw a big-cartoony Pumpkin Poster for a while. This is pretty much as I saw it in my mind. I drew it in Manga Studio, coloured using the basic fill in pen and then shaded using black inks over a transparency layer.
I’m having a really great time with #Drawlloween, but I’m not the only one doing this. There are active hashtags on twitter, tumblr and Facebook with tonnes of great artists taking part. Check out my other entries, or follow along on twitter.
Today’s creature was a personal favourite, the werewolf. I like this one a lot because I feel like it’s the first where I set out with a more ambitious pose / scene and actually realised it. Sort of the opposite of the process with the Goblin.

Day 4 of #Drawlloween is here!
Today is the vampire, check out my entry.
I think this one turned out better than the Goblin, though when I finished I was surprised to see how much the post match the Devil. Still, I like this one. I went for deep reads for the waistcoat and trousers. The inside of the cloak was going to be red too but there wasn’t a good enough separation between the body and the cloak. Probably my favourite part is the hands, which aren’t exactly anatomically correct, but have the nice horror- grip look I was going for.

It’s day three of Drawlloween!
Today’s subject was “Goblin.” Here’s my entry:
I have mixed feelings, I started and restarted this picture and I’m still not 100% happy with it. I wanted something more dynamic, like a goblin fishing in an underground lake or something but it wasn’t working out well for me. So we have this instead. It’s not without its charm I suppose.
See you tomorrow!
Today’s task was to draw a devil, so here you go:
I’m a bit less happy with this one, I think the devil’s alright, but the background is a bit sloppy. I’m most pleased with the shading which really completed the picture for me. The little transparent tortured souls worked out well too.
I’m participating in Drawlloween this year, which is a really fun event for artists. The idea is that on each day of the month you draw something connected to Halloween from the official list. It’s a really cool event to see everyone’s different take on the same subject. I’ve included the list if you’d like to get involved.
With that in mind, here’s my ghost for day one.
I’m pretty pleased with it, though the head turned out a bit more like Oogie Boogie than I was planning on. Oh well. More Drawlloween tomorrow!
